What is Round Table 39? The Round Table consists of a group of approximately 15 till 20 men in the age of 25 up to 40 years. They all live and/or work on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in the South Western part of the Netherlands, and as a result they have already one thing which binds them and this increases the local involvement. Their professions differ, therefore the diversity of the group is guaranteed. When they have reached the age of 40, individuals leave the Round Table to make place for new members, this way the Round Table remains a very active club.
Round Table 39 Schouwen-Duiveland has been established on 26th April 1952 and therefore is one of the older Round Tables of the Netherlands and the oldest service club of Schouwen-Duiveland. Round Table 39 is a subsidiary of Round Table Netherlands
What is the aim of the Round Table? Briefly the aim of the Round Table is to educate its members, to make a contribution to the (local) community and to promote (international) friendship.
How does it work? The Round Table 39 meets two times per month on a Friday, to debate interesting topics and to discuss what and how they can contribute to the (local) community. Discussion is always lively and witty therefore is always a lot of fun.
Furthermore trips are organised during the year in order to broaden the horizon of the members. For example the previous years a guided tour took place in the European Parliament, the Volvo Ocean Race was attended and several companies were visited.
Moreover Round Tables in other countries were visited as well. This gives the members an impression about the life and cultures of other nationalities.
What means being a member of the Round Table? Membership of a Round Table implies: attending meetings, participating in the activities and also contributing to the service projects in order to support good causes. Membership of the Round Table is voluntary but not without responsibility.

Round Table 39 Schouwen-Duiveland is more than just a service club, it is a group of individuals who through developing good frienships learn to respect one another and differing viewpoints each other hold. This will lead to discussion but always end in harmony over a drink.
